Introduction
According to the Shops and Establishments Act, the term establishment means a shop or a commercial establishment. These establishments include commercial spaces, residential hotels, restaurants, theaters or other places of public amusement or entertainment.
It regulates the working of Shops, Commercial establishments, and even residential premises running for business gain. S&E act regulates the following areas: Working hours, overtime, leave policy. Rest interval for employees.
The Shop and Establishment Act generally regulates payment of wages, hours of work, terms of service, wages for holidays, leave policy, work conditions, overtime work, interval for meals and rest, prohibition for employment of children, employment of young persons or women, maternity leave and benefits thereof
The documents required for obtaining the shop and establishment registration certificate
1.Shop or Business Establishment address proof. 2.ID proof of the proprietor. PAN Card of the proprietor. 3.Details of the employees. Payment challan. Additional business licenses necessary for starting the business, if any.
